Day 7 – Toad River, BC to Continental Divide Campground, Yukon - 315 Miles

Another Day of “scenic” pavement on the Alaskan Highway interspersed with a
sky blue lake, fast rivers, some wildlife & wildflowers and a Sign Forest!!

The Happy Couple viewing Muncho Lake, BC.

We saw buffalo three different times along the road but not in huge numbers,
one moose, and two black bears.

Welcome to the Yukon! Honeymooning newlyweds from Nevada asked us
to take their picture by this sign – they reciprocated.

The “Sign Post Forest” at Watson Lake, BC, was started by a US soldier
working on the construction of the Alaskan Hwy in 1942.
Today there are over 60,000 signs and visitors are still encouraged to add a sign
– we didn’t!

The Continental Divide goes through the middle of the Yukon Territory.

At the Continental Divide Campground for the night,
Phyllis Internet blogs while Peter “paper” blogs!!

Peter talked to a 65-year old bicyclist at the campground. He is biking from Anchorage to New Mexico and needs to be there by November 15, 2010!!!
